A keen cyclist, Patrick worked tirelessly, over many, many years, to ensure the building was always clean, safe, secure and ready for use, early in the mornings, late at night and at the weekends.
He was a focal point for everything that happened here; whether managing bookings, liaising with and between hirers, overseeing builders, plumbers and electricians, ordering supplies or tending to his prized tomatoes on the balcony.
If ever there was a problem, we could always rely on Patrick to calmly step in, take control and deal with it.
It’s no exaggeration to say that Patrick lived for the Centre and the many people, young and old, who valued being here.
We will all miss him.
