Joe Marshall is looking forward to a celebration of the arts

The 2017 Haringey Youth Festival is set to be everything it promises and more. On 28th October (next Saturday!), a quality line up of youth organisations will be showcasing their work in a series of performances at Duke’s Aldridge Academy, North Tottenham. There will be singing, dancing, acting, circus skills and even a comedy act. Those involved include the envelope pushing Haringey Shed theatre company, a project from the ever astounding Jacksons Lane Theatre and the formidable Streetz Ahead dance collective, amongst a variety of other brilliant organisations.

The show is now in its fifth year and continues to go from strength to strength. On the day, the 150 young people taking part will have the opportunity to engage in arts workshops in the morning, as well as being part of the spectacle in the afternoon. Your mind will be blown away by the array of talent and dedication amongst youngsters in Haringey.

Stuart Cox, one of the event organisers, says the purpose of the enterprise is to “raise aspirations and broaden horizons” in the local area. Exposure will be there, promoting our work and showing our support.
