Ganged Up

Based on the real life experiences of young men living in Haringey, ‘Ganged Up’ explores the horrific world of those mixed up in gangs and drugs. We witness the pressures they face and the impact their decisions have, on themselves and their families.

We spent six weeks in the summer of 2012 discussing gang culture with a number of hardened gang members. We wanted to know what made them tick, what scared them, what kept them awake at night; ending up in hospital or prison didn’t even figure.

The work, commissioned by Haringey Youth Service, culminated in a short film, subsequently shortlisted for the British Film Institute (BFI) ‘Future Film Festival’, and an eight-page magazine supplement.
