Young people from Barnet Southgate embrace change and gratitude
As a former Barnet and Southgate College Media student, I really connect with the journeys these awesome students are on. I too navigated the complexities of youth, identity and gratitude. It’s been an eye-opening opportunity to come back to my old college and help guide and inspire these podcasts. The work from this group has created some deep reflection, and I’m excited for you to hear it.
In this episode, Aleks, Taylan and Isaac unpack what it means to be grateful. They start by talking about the people who shape them, the friends who choose to stick around and family who pass down the values that keep them grounded. They talk about the small things, like the calming presence of trees and patterns in nature, that help them find peace.
They share how art inspires them, whether it’s a drawing, a powerful film or a cool movie poster. These things encourage them to step up, try new things, and create. For them, art is a way to celebrate creativity, growth, and, of course, gratitude.
Ultimately, they explore how gratitude is a natural part of life. It’s not always easy, especially with the pressures of social media and comparison. However, in this conversation, they focus on being grateful for real connections, authenticity and the beauty in everyday life.
