Avery Crow’s words of advice and reassurance for her little sister
Little girl,
With smile of sunflowers
And tears of watercolour paint
Little soul,
Too good for this place
But I promise I’ll keep you safe
Little child,
With a heart so full
It’s a wonder there’s still more space
Little one,
Hold on tight to your love
And to every joy you create
Little sister,
Get some sleep
You’ve got a world to take over when you wake.

Avery is a 14-year-old from Tottenham, North London who is passionate about writing, especially poetry. They also enjoy painting, and are about to enter their grade 6. exam for piano. They are passionate about advocating for LGBTQ+ rights, especially to do with the mental health of LGBTQ+ students at their school - a theme they often explore through poetry and fiction writing.
