Scarlett Peter’s perspective on the world of dyslexia
Dyslexia is not common,
10% of the population will sorrow
I must follow but cannot win the lotto
Deffo something special – somewhat like a devil
People can be gentle, somewhat feral
I call it style, it’s somewhat vile
After a while, you cannot call me reptile
Never a down style, it’s part of my profile
No need to restyle, not even by a mile
When you smile, I may freestyle
After-all, dyslexia is not common
10% of the population sorrow
Squint your eyes and you may see
morphed syllables in between lines
Letters with their own minds
Hidden finds
Oh, never mind, words
unconfined
I’m blind – without any lines
Is this your sign?
After all, dyslexia is not common
10% of the population sorrow
I could let you borrow
this little cargo – call it a sargo
or even your shadow
Almost like a panto
However, so solo.
I’ve found my bingo,
You’re using my lingo,
Understand I’m just a kiddo
Dyslexia is not common
10% of the population sorrow.
Yet within, creativity does borrow
and words will twist and follow
