Theatre review: Chickenshed’s PANtastic festive show

Yet again, Chickenshed has amazed me with their unique, personal style, and twist on traditional stories. Their astonishing performance of PAN is a fitting celebration for their 50th anniversary. I wholeheartedly recommend this production for a magical and remarkable way to enliven your festive season.
The story entails the character, Pan (played brilliantly by Demar Lambert) who loses his shadow, sparking an adventurous journey through London. Along the way, three children – Wendy, Michael and John – join Pan in a magical tour filled with enchanting fairies, passionate pirates and charming Lost Ones. Neverland is brought to life with wonder and magic, and this production truly captures it.
The viewers get a chance to see incredible choreography, diverse singing and dancing, an exceptional live orchestra performance and compelling drama performances – what is there not to love? The stage design is perhaps the best one yet – a testament the efforts of the stage production.
After watching this performance, I can see why 50 years of Chickenshed has had the success it has. Chickenshed’s touch has made one of my favourite childhood classics truly unforgettable. PAN solidifies 50 years of inspiration; and many more to come!
