If you’re ready to be swept away on a wild, whimsical voyage like no other, then Haringey Shed’s Naut-Sensical is the show for you! This delightfully quirky production takes place aboard the cruise ship… Bob. Yes, Bob. And trust me, this is no ordinary cruise. It’s the ultimate trip, jam packed with playfulness, community, joy and the journey of self-discovery.
The story charts the course of a crew of seasoned captains preparing for retirement. But before they hang up their hats, there’s one big decision left to make: who will be the next leader at the helm? What follows is a hilarious, heartwarming and often unpredictable selection process steered by a unique cruise ship ‘family’ made up of both new faces and old friends. It’s a community that feels like a floating festival of fun, where everyone belongs and everyone has something special to offer.
A truly inspirational show that kept a smile on my face!
Throughout the voyage, the characters literally and figuratively discover their senses touch, sound and sight, as they explore and discover the world around them. The show cleverly weaves in these themes, making you think while you laugh (and sometimes both at once!).
The show included all original music which perfectly matched the mood, tone and feeling of the scenes. Some of the script was improvised, which truly added to the natural flair and comedic effect of the story and also highlighted the talent of the actors showcasing each individual personality.
One of the most inspiring things about this show is its incredible cast. Featuring young adults with various disabilities, the performance celebrates inclusion and talent in all its forms. Their energy, humour and genuine connection to the story made it an absolute joy to watch. A truly inspirational show that kept a smile on my face!
